My name is Colin Gremillion. I'm a 24-year-old web developer living in Tucson, Arizona, in the high edges of the Sonoran desert. I'm currently employed as a Senior Support Analyst with the University of Arizona where I run internet and intranet web sites.
I've been developing web sites for close to ten years, but have only been doing it seriously for about the last four years. I'm originally from New Orleans, but was just born there and have lived in various places over the years before attending the University
of Houston in Houston, Texas and graduating with a BBA in Management in 2003. I hate Houston, so I left almost right after I graduated for Tucson and have lived here for about a year and a half now. I live Downtown in a high-rise condo sort of building
overlooking "A" Mountain.
I moved to Tucson because I think it's one of the best cities in the country to live in once all factors are considered. The housing costs are low, there's a lot to do and there are really great people here. The downsides are that Tucson has the
highest property crime rate in the country (16% higher than #2, Memphis), and Tucson has few jobs, especially in the IT industry, unless you want to work for Raytheon or the Air Force.
For fun, I love the outdoors. Hiking, camping, just walking around, and lots of random drives in the desert. I also love to travel, which is what I spend most of my salary on. I love music, play the drums, and am in a local band, which will
have a web site soon enough.
For music, I like theatrical, climactic, "Post-Rock" like Mogwai, Godspeed You! Black Emperor and Explosions in the Sky. I also like intelligent dance and electronic music like Boards of Canada, older Autechre, Mouse on Mars and Bola. Trip-hop like Massive Attack, Thievery Corporation and Bowery Electric.
Indie rock like Death Cab for Cutie, Modest Mouse and Cat Power. Emo like older Jets to Brazil, Piebald and older Jimmy Eat World. Classic Rock like Black Sabbath, Led Zeppelin and Cream. Older heavy metal like Metallica and Megadeth. I also like certain types of
70's-style funk like The Whitefield Brothers, zydeco, bluegrass, classic country and instrumental jazz. I tend to play general rock, blues or jazz; basically whatever band I find that I enjoy being in.
If that's not enough, then feel free to email me.
