Responsibilities:

  • Designing new, and maintaining existing web applications and web pages for the official web sites of Safari Club International using HTML, CSS, JavaScript, ColdFusion, ASP and PHP.

  • Designing new, and maintaining existing databases for web and internal use using MS Access and MS SQL Server.

  • Designing new, and maintaining existing web applications for internal purposes.

  • Creating and designing new graphics and pictures for use on web sites and internal web applications using Adobe Photoshop and ImageReady.

  • Maintaining and troubleshooting web server (Windows 2003 Server SE).

  • Assisting other staff with technical support issues.

  • Serving as main point of contact for public and membership base regarding web site.

  • Details of Various Web Sites:

    • www.safariclub.org: ColdFusion-based, driven almost solely by MS SQL. Includes a password-protected members area and a secure online ordering system which drew from/populated iMIS, a 3rd-party record-keeping system used by the organization, as well as a content management system. Designed and developed front page and many internal pages. Web site functionality originally developed by 3rd party.

    • www.sci-foundation.org: Mainly JavaScript-based, mostly informational web site. Includes several PHP-based email form applications. Designed and developed all current design and functionality.

    • www.showsci.com: ColdFusion-based, driven almost solely by MS SQL. Serves as an informational web site for the organization's annual convention, catering to a selective audience of vendors and exhibitors. Designed and developed all current design and functionality. (In design process as of August 2004)

    • www.thewildlifemuseum.org: PHP-based, driven almost solely by MS SQL Server as a mainly informational web site for the International Wildlife Museum. Includes a content management system design from scratch and used by museum staff to create and edit content. Designed and developed all current design and functionality. (In development process as of August 2004)
